Stop the madness

Monday, August 10, 2009

My friend Nancy at f8hasit posted on her blog about a really unfortunate incident that happened in her city regarding the police and an innocent dog.

I, too, used to live in Lakewood, OH where this occured and I loved it. It's a very family friendly city and sits right on the shores of Lake Erie. Unfortunately, you can't enjoy that beautiful lakefront with your dog because the city doesn't allow it.

I knew they had this crazy ordinance about "no dogs in any city parks" and that they recently banned pit bulls but what happened last week was so over the top and inexcusable, that I had to share it with you here.

Please read Nancy's post here and take action if you can.

Dogs everywhere thank you!

  1. I read Nancy's post, but I could not convince myself to watch the video. I still haven't. I hate seeing dogs being mistreated. It was hard enough reading about it. It's all so sad.

  3. Hey, Thanks Chrissy for bringing even more attention to this. I saw on the Lakewood Observer website that the city has gotten tons of e-mails and letters about this...hopefully with the continuation of these letters they might reverse some of the ordinances that have been snuck into place.
Stuey and Sienna (my dogs) thank you. They want to know when you are coming back over...Stuey's saving a big wet kiss for you!

  7. @Theresa, I couldn't bring myself to watch it either, it was bad enough they did a blow by blow on the news.

  8. @JW.BW, It's sad, isn't it? Makes us all embarassed. It's not like we live in the inner city and train our dogs to kill. I couldn't watch it, either.

@Ron, Thanks for checking her post out. I'll give Bern a hug for you! It's storming here now so she's hiding somewhere.
