I saw this headline today:
South Africa's new 800-metre world champion Caster Semenya was declared a "golden girl" by local press Thursday, with the athlete's family shrugging off questions about the runner's gender.This is causing quite a stir. I say, go ahead with the gender testing. And while you're at it, would you add her to the list, please?
I can think of hundreds of other people who shd be on this list; my teacher way back in high school inclusive...nice jab at her there
ReplyDeleteHA! Poor Mean Ole' Rosey ODonnell. Maybe she should try being nicer. ;)
ReplyDeleteSo she is a girl? both of them i mean...
ReplyDeleteHee Hee Hee
ReplyDeleteWhen I first saw the photo, I thought you were doing a post about Usain Bolt. I really did. Wow, get that girl some make-up, a dress and some stilettos.
ReplyDeleteI'll take her abs though.
I agree with Theresa - I thought it was Usain Bolt at first glance too. I would kill for those abs...
ReplyDeleteSigh....isn't it typical that a post about gender becomes all about abs???
ReplyDeleteHave I mentioned lately how much I love, love, LOVE your opening photo? It's the cat's meow...
(and yeah, I'd kill for those abs, too...)
That's Eunice Bolt. Usain's fraternal twin sister. According to their mom, "It was a very quick delivery."
ReplyDeleteSome of us lesbians can't help it if we're a little extra butch-looking.
ReplyDeleteActually, I'm not very butch (nor femme, I'm apparently confused), but I have sympathy for less "traditional" looking women. Though, yeah, I want those abs, too. And that speed, yikes, she was fast.
If she had come in dead last in that race, would they be checking her out?
What is a woman? What is a man? I'm not sure anymore, but Semenya's first name should be LOLA...L-O-L-A Lola...
ReplyDeleteITS PAT !!! LOL ...SNL..anybody ?? Ok sorrry ! LOL
ReplyDelete@sleek,
ReplyDeleteI know, I can think of lots, too, but like your high school teacher, no one would know who I was talking about.
@erin,
I agree. But somehow she always comes out smelling like um..a Rose?
@Mr. Glob,
EXACTly...
@JW.BW,
Yup!
@Theresa,
ReplyDeleteThank you. I rest my case. Rock hard is overrated.
@Travel Girl,
Again...overrated. Love my belly jelly.
@Kathryn,
Thanks, lovey.
@Chris,
Right. I missed the bow in her hair.
@Bran da flake,
ReplyDeleteGood point. It probably wouldn't have been a blip on the radar.
@Timoteo,
LOL! What can I say? It's a mixed up, muddled up, shook up world.
@King of New York Hacks,
I forgot all about Pat. I miss him. Her. Him?
Bwhahahahahaaa....about Rosie!!!
ReplyDeleteMan or woman...she a BEAST.
Interesting topic I agree.
ReplyDeleteI am from South Africa and I am proud of her achievement, be a boy or a girl.
shame though, I feel a bit sympathetic toward her
@Ron,
ReplyDeleteWell, you know I can't stand Rosie!
@Davis,
Oh, she's amazing. But yes, it is a bit sad.
omg that made me laugh out loud. :-)
ReplyDeleteVodka Mom,
ReplyDeleteYes, Rosie is laughable.
