I saw this headline today:

South Africa's new 800-metre world champion Caster Semenya was declared a "golden girl" by local press Thursday, with the athlete's family shrugging off questions about the runner's gender.

This is causing quite a stir. I say, go ahead with the gender testing. And while you're at it, would you add her to the list, please?

  4. When I first saw the photo, I thought you were doing a post about Usain Bolt. I really did. Wow, get that girl some make-up, a dress and some stilettos.

    I'll take her abs though.

  5. I agree with Theresa - I thought it was Usain Bolt at first glance too. I would kill for those abs...

  6. Sigh....isn't it typical that a post about gender becomes all about abs???

Have I mentioned lately how much I love, love, LOVE your opening photo? It's the cat's meow...

(and yeah, I'd kill for those abs, too...)

  7. That's Eunice Bolt. Usain's fraternal twin sister. According to their mom, "It was a very quick delivery."

  8. Some of us lesbians can't help it if we're a little extra butch-looking.

Actually, I'm not very butch (nor femme, I'm apparently confused), but I have sympathy for less "traditional" looking women. Though, yeah, I want those abs, too. And that speed, yikes, she was fast.

If she had come in dead last in that race, would they be checking her out?

  9. What is a woman? What is a man? I'm not sure anymore, but Semenya's first name should be LOLA...L-O-L-A Lola...

I am from South Africa and I am proud of her achievement, be a boy or a girl.
