California, here I come. Maybe...

Monday, October 5, 2009

Okay, so I'm going to California now. Eventually.

My Favorite (formerly known as Mr. 2004 but always known to me as My Favorite) and I talked things through this weekend. I guess I may have misinterpreted his actions and as any of us know who are less than one year post serious relationship, it takes a while to work through the emotions of a breakup even if you have no desire to go back with that person.

You don't have any desire to go back with her, right?

When we last spoke a month ago, my feelings were hurt, thinking that he didn't want to see me at all but I realize now, that wasn't the case. He just needs some time to work through some of the junk in his head. And I get that.

Obviously, any trip is contingent on Dad's prognosis because I need to keep as much of my vacation time free to be available for him when he needs me.

So I'm glad My Favorite and I put it out there and worked through it. We've always been able to be completely honest with each other and talk about anything without any fear of being judged. That's one of the things I miss most about him.

Oh, and his hotness. You know how I like those pretty boys.

In fact, here's a picture of us from my friend's wedding in 2004 which was the last time I saw him.

On second thought, I didn't think it was fair to post his picture without him knowing so all you get to see is the back of his head in the mirror and me wearing a $200 bridesmaid dress that I resold for $15 on eBay.

I'll keep you posted.

  4. Hiya Chrissy! I've just jogged through a few entries to play catchup (and I'm still in my underpants - not a pretty sight before coffee, or indeed after). I really feel for you on this one. Unresolved feelings have a way of haunting us, and the fact you looked for Mr. F on Facebook probably says a lot about yours. I'm a "moving forward" kinda guy, and feelings for old flames can often say more about where you are now than about where you've been. But I've made terrible mistakes over the years that I regret, and I might even try to turn the clock back on them, if only my pride and fear would only let me. Be braver than me and take the flight! It might not work out, but maybe there's gold in them thar hills! Indigo x

  13. Woah. The back of his head is HOT! (Is that okay that I said that??) I like the pretty boys too...there are not enough of them to go around, in my humble opinion.
You look mah-velous....the dress? Is not befitting the beauty that you are, but you make it work!
I hope Fav guy realizes how wonderful you are...that's all I'm saying.
