Vigilante Gardener Update

Wednesday, October 14, 2009

Back in July, I told you about this crazy bitch who killed a fawn in her yard because it ate her flowers.

She pleaded no contest this week to one misdemeanor count of animal abuse and was found guilty by a municipal court judge, who sentenced her to 80 hours of community service and odered her to pay a $500 fine.

That's it?!?!?

It's a good thing I'm not a judge because my sentence would have been to whack her over the head with a shovel.

  2. Why is it that people who abuse children and animals almost always receive the litest of sentences? Sometimes I think we should follow the examples of 3rd world countries; if you steal they cut off your hands, so.. if you molest a child off goes your dick! I don't know just a thought!

  6. my husband is an avid hunter and i'm all for controlling the deer population and all that jazz, but to actually kill a FAWN because it was eating your plants??? it's a BABY! No decent human being kills a baby animal, especially for something so small as eating plants. it's called, plant deer resistant items! I agree with you...and perhaps will bring my own shovel along to smack her upside the head.

  7. The fact that she beat a fawn to death and claimed self defense is pathetic. The woman is obviously all kinds of disturbed.

    However, to play devil's advocate, how is this any different than a hunter shooting deer (which is perfectly legal)? I have heard plenty of hunting stories in which a hunter shot a deer, but it did not die right away. They had to track the deer down via blood trail through the forest until it finally died (sounds like a pretty slow and painful death to me). Or what if a hunter kills a doe who is the mother of a fawn that then dies slowly of starvation without its parent?

    Again, just playing devil's advocate, but why is one form of cruelty legal and this woman's is unacceptable?

  9. maybe she had a temporary memory lapse and forgot the old 'hang a bag of hair in a nylon sack' trick to keep the deer away. some people are just fanatic about their gardens ok...no harm no foul...

    oh wait...

  11. I don't understand how anyone can hurt one of God's creations. I use to watch the deer eat the apples off my tree in the back yard. I looked forward to seeing them.

  15. I think you should get what you give.

    Kiss a deer, feed a deer, you get kissed and fed.

    Torture and kill a deer and you should be left with said deer's fam (and maybe a neighboring group of coyotes for good measure) for the time equal to the deer's pain and suffering.

    You get the sleeping pills, I'll round up the coyotes....

    @CatLadyLarew,
    At the least.

    @Theresa,
    Sounds like we'll all take turns. We can sing the Lizzie Borden song.

    @Russ,
    Sad, isn't it? I get upset if I almost run over a squirrel after it's dead.

    @Windtraveler,
    Sorry, I know.

    @Secretia,
    Well, she is old. I hope they make her pick up trash on the highway or something.

    @Jeve,
    YEAH!

    @Kathryn,
    Kiss a deer? Is there something you need to tell me?
