My mother didn't get married until she was 28. When my sister and I were younger, we couldn't believe that she was
that old before she found someone. We used to laugh and laugh...
We stopped laughing when we turned 29.
I guess Mom is getting the last laugh now.
Happy Anniversary, Mom & Dad!
53 years and going strong!
Wow, how nice!
ReplyDeleteI'm a total sucker for happy endings and family pictures. Congratulations to your parents - quite an achievement by today's standards!
ReplyDeleteI can't fathom 53 years of stability.
ReplyDelete@Laoch of Chicago,
ReplyDeleteYep. It's pretty cool, thanks.
@Matthew,
Thanks so much. AND they got engaged after 3 weeks and married 3 months later. Who does that ever work for?
@Carlos,
I can't imagine 53 days with anyone. (deep sigh..)
I don't think I have 53 years left to give to anyone if they wanted it!
ReplyDelete:-)
Happy Anniversary to your mom and pops! Are they going to celebrate by watching that Brazilian TV? Together?
Congratulations to them! It certainly takes a lot of tolerance to last that long with anyone.
ReplyDeleteThey are SO cute! Great photo!
ReplyDeleteMy hub and I are celebrating 51 years of marriage! Twenty-five for him, 17 for me, and nine together! (Gotta go cumulative at this point in life!)
Happy Anniversary to Mom & Dad Stripper. That's a long, long time...
ReplyDeleteWOW!...53 years!!!!
ReplyDeleteHow WONDERFUL!
Happy Anniversary Chrissy's Mom and Dad!
X to you both!
Very cute, and hilarious. Who's laughing now?
ReplyDeleteAw. Something about hitting that 50-year-mark is so awesome. I always smile when I see the "lifers" walking together.
ReplyDeleteI'll bet they don't snip at each other all the time, either...
@f8hasit,
ReplyDeleteI know. I'm not sure I could give someone 53 months.
Thanks for the wishes. No, they're saving that for his birthdy in a few weeks!
@Travel Girl,
Thanks, yes tolerance would be the correct word!
@Leah,
Thanks, aren't they sweet?
I love how you calculate your longevity. That's fantastic!
@KC,
ReplyDeleteMom & Dad Stripper. Now why didn't I think of that??
@Ron,
Thanks for the well wishes!
@Chris,
I stopped laughing in 1995. The Indians lost to the Braves in the World Series, too. It was a tough year.
@Kathryn,
Au contraire. They yell all the time. Well, mostly it's my mother yelling and my father saying, Yes Dear.
@
After 3 weeks? that outta be in a record book somewhere...
ReplyDeleteSleek,
ReplyDeleteI know. Isn't that crazy? My father always jokes that my grandparents tied him to a chair and wouldn't let him leave until he proposed.
wow 53 years...that is worth celebrating!
ReplyDeleteThey're adorable.
ReplyDelete@Stacie,
ReplyDeleteVery cool, isn't it? Thanks.
@Peach Tart,
Yeah, aren't they sweet?
Yahoo! Happy Anniversay Chrissy's mom and dad!!!
