This is something my husband does frequently. I'm more of a "go back in the house three times before leaving because I forgot stuff I need" person. He leaves the keys in the lock, and never puts tools away after taking them out to fix something. Which means you can't find the tools when you need to fix something else.
Oh my!! You need to get a handle on that habit.
