Kick me. Hard

Wednesday, September 4, 2013

You guys I'm SO excited about my latest project! I just launched a Kickstarter campaign. For those of you who aren't familiar with Kickstarter, it's a crowd funding website where creative people (inventors, artists, authors, photographers) can go to seek funding for their projects.

You all know how much I love (am obsessed with) my dogs. While puppies are adorable, I'm a huge advocate of adopting senior dogs who are much harder to place in new homes. People have a misconception that the dog will be sick or have emotional issues or something like that. And some may actually have one or both of those issues but the majority just ended up in a shelter because of an unfortunate circumstance.

Mine have a lot of life left in them as I can attest to by the fact that they can drive me crazy! But I wouldn't have it any other way. I didn't have to deal with all the "puppy stuff" and I knew the temperament I was getting each time with a more mature dog.

So all that said, I wrote a children's book about the joy of adopting a senior dog. I want to donate this book to shelters and rescue organizations to use in their outreach efforts to support the adoption of senior dogs. And, of course, I'll have it available for sale on a dedicated website.

I wanted to share it with you here and ask that you donate if you can and please help to spread the word about the book and the cause we're looking to promote. The way Kickstarter works is that you need to reach your funding goal to receive the money and if you don't, you get nothing.

 Zip. Zilch. Nada.

So if I come up one dollar short, I'm outta luck.

This is the link to my Kickstarter project. I titled the book, He Chose Me, because as any dog owner can attest, the dogs usually choose us.

Thank you in advance for your support!

I'm the same way. Whenever I've adopted cats, I've always chosen matures felines.

The BEST to you and this campaign, girl!!!!!

    XOXO

Thanks, Ron! Yes, I like to know what I'm in for! Although, Dino was (continues to be) a surprise. :-)

  5. This makes a lot more sense than an arsonist friend of mine who set up a Firestarter campaign - but seriously, great idea....

  6. @David Macaulay,
Yes, I would think it would be tough to get backers for that. Thanks!
